EN The programme of the 3rd International Conference of Young Specialists Actual Problems of Theory and History of Art extended over five days, from 31 October to 4 November 2012. Sessions were held at Saint Petersburg State University and the State Hermitage Museum, followed by off-site academic seminars on the final day.
31 October — opening day
The conference opened in SPbU's Twelve Collegia building with a plenary session. Papers and greetings were streamed online, while video links connected the venue with MSU, the Moscow Architectural Institute, Ural Federal University, and the University of Belgrade. The photography exhibition The Caucasus: A Path of Memories also opened that day.
1 November — medieval and twentieth-century art
Parallel sessions examined Eastern Christian and medieval Russian art, Western European art of the medieval and modern periods, and twentieth-century Russian art.
2 November — theory, Russian art, and Western art
The day's sections addressed art theory and cultural studies, Russian art from the eighteenth to the early twentieth century, and twentieth-century Western art.
3 November — the State Hermitage Museum
The session on the art of the ancient world was held at the State Hermitage Museum. A closing discussion and museum-based academic seminars followed the papers.
4 November — study visits
The concluding programme comprised academic visits to Veliky Novgorod, Pavlovsk, and Tsarskoye Selo.
