How to apply

Applications for the 2026 conference closed on 1 June. Selection results are expected on 30 August 2026.

The requirements below applied to proposals for the 12th International Academic Conference Actual Problems of Theory and History of Art. Please note that the submission form is closed; this information is retained for participants in the completed application stage.

Submitting through the participant account

1. A new applicant registers an account, confirms their email address, and signs in.
2. The applicant completes the personal-data section used by the application form.
3. A new proposal is created in the applications section with the paper title, abstract, keywords, and proposed conference section.
4. Each co-author registers a separate account and joins the existing proposal using the code issued by the system.
5. After submission, the proposal status is tracked in the same account.

Who could apply

The conference welcomed art historians, cultural researchers, archaeologists, conservators, museum professionals, and scholars in related humanities disciplines whose work concerns architecture, visual art, or decorative art.

Application requirements

• an abstract between 2,000 and 3,500 characters, including spaces;
• a proposed conference section selected in the application;
• a separate account for every co-author, linked to the same proposal;
• a signed and scanned recommendation from an academic supervisor for postgraduate and senior undergraduate students.

Preparing the abstract

Applicants were asked to provide a concise and precise account of the proposed paper, identifying its subject, aims, methods, principal findings, and the author’s contribution to the research problem. A structure that follows the planned presentation is recommended.

Proposals are assessed according to:

• relevance to the conference themes;
• the importance and originality of the research;
• the clarity and quality of the abstract;
• the possibility of grouping the paper with related contributions in a coherent session.

Applications are not peer-reviewed, and individual reasons for rejection are not provided. Applicants should check the status of an existing proposal in their participant account.
